:: Case Study 1: Australia Post Headquarters, Strawberry Hills, Sydney ::
Background: The site houses the administration of Australia Post New South Wales, and the building also boasts many other blue chip tenants including the Department of Children’s Services (DOCs), State Transit Authority (STA), NSW Police and Media Monitors. We ensure this critical location is always operational. An example: Australia Post experienced a major short circuit and fault on the Air Conditioner Bus duct, resulting in no air conditioning to the entire site.
Solution: CTS Electrics arrived on site within 1 hour of the incident. We inspected 150m of duct work to locate the fault. We then called a wholesaler after hours to assemble materials to temporarily rectify the fault and restore the air conditioning to the building. CTS Electrics revisited the site, again after hours during the Xmas break period, to install the new bus duct. This was successfully completed in a 12 hr ‘out-of-hours’ period.
Result: No power disruption to the site and no OHS issues due to the loss of air conditioning.
:: Case Study 2: The Powerhouse Museum, Sydney ::
Background: This site involves an array of electrical systems and setups to highlight the Museum’s brilliant exhibitions. Recently we were commissioned to handle the Harley Davidson Exhibition.
Solution: CTS Electrics handled 4 separate theatres of operation, and covered lighting design, installation, showcase displays, temporary switchboards and co-ordination with the Project Exhibition Manager.
Result: All displays were completed on-time and on-budget. Setups were all completed during out-of-hours timeframes, and the Harley exhibits were hailed as an unprecedented success.
